The always on intranet solution for business parks and facilities managers.
Web applications agency Duo Design have developed a new ‘always on, always logged in’ intranet solution for business parks and facility providers.
DuoConnect brings the intranet, web homepage, and search engine all together in a single easily accessible application.
The single biggest barrier to intranet usage is user log in. Only when you have entered user name and password can you access any of the applications made available.
Because of this, businesses within managed parks and facilities tend only to use intranets when they need something – such as booking meeting rooms, presentation equipment or visitor car parking, and in many cases intranet systems are not used at all as people are unaware of their existence and instead phone in problems and bookings.
DuoConnect offers a new approach to the intranet, combining a Google search with a host of other features, all of which foster greater contact with the host - and community between the tenants.
Tenant companies now have an intranet that is always ‘logged in’, and when made a home page, is a highly visible part of a working day.
DuoConnect can also be tailored to include numerous applications such as internal ‘tweets’ between tenants and message updates from the landlord (which can be tailored to specified buildings or groups). DuoConnect can also include useful applications such as local weather, traffic and what’s on.
Most importantly DuoConnect brings the intranet from the background to the foreground. Why have a valuable resource that is rarely used? DuoConnect is a constant reminder to tenants that they are part of a community – making the landlord more visible and, importantly, appear more valuable.
Duo Design has worked with Manchester Science Parks (msp) to create an innovative online resource. Tenants can now use the intranet to collaborate with each other, receive important updates and give feedback to msp. We would recommend DuoConnect as a communications tool fit for a modern business park community.
