Setting Up Microsoft Outlook Express

To setup Outlook Express for the first time simply follow the guidelines below, there are  some pictures included to help you navigate through the setup easily.

1 . Open Outlook Express. In the new window click on Tools in the header then click on Accounts which is third from the bottom of the list. 

2 . The new window will look like the one below. Click on the Add button on the right hand side and then click on Mail .

3 . You will then be taken to the email setup page. Enter your name in the Display Name box and click Next .

4 . Now enter your full e-mail address in the box titled E-Mail Address and click on Next . You will then be taken to the page below.

Select POP3 from the drop down box.

In the Incoming Mail box type:   mail.yourdomain
In the Outgoing Mail box type:   mail.yourdomain

Then click on Next .

5 . Select Log On then enter your provided user-name in the POP Account Name box and your password in the Password box . Ensure you select the "Log On Using" box and not the "Log
on using Secure Password Authentication" box.

Click on Next .

6 . You can either leave the Internet Mail Account Name box empty or enter a name of your choice to identify the mail service. Then click on Next and select which connection applies to your Internet setup.

7 . You now just have to click on Finish to complete the configuration.


With Duo Mail you will need to go through the process above again, and on the second account use

mail2.yourdomain

for outgoing(smtp) and incoming(pop3) mail servers, replacing mail.yourdomain with mail2.yourdomain (IE mail2.duodesign.co.uk) . This provides you with a backup server so your mail is always available.

Now just click on Close and you are ready to start using E-mail.

To send an e-mail, open Outlook express, and just select Compose a Message from the main Outlook opening screen.
