Accessible Contenticon of blind character with dog and caine... yes we know they wouldn't need both, but hey it's a cartoon.

Since late 2005 after joining the MDDA Accessibility work group we began programming all our new sites to conform to W3C web standard.

Following XHTML1 and CSS2 standards has not only enabled better compatibility for our sites but also now means they load quicker and work better with adaptive technologies ( screen readers, high contrast style sheet etc). With a simple change programming style we have enabled a wider audience to view our websites. As these changes have largely been to the templates for our easy edit sites it means additional content will conform almost automatically.

We can now also more easily make our websites print in a more printer friendly way ( removing graphics and navigation ) and work with mobile technologies.
