Venture Business Club

Holding weekly meetings at the 'Dragons' Health Club in Sale. The diverse range of business activities include:  accountancy, beauty salon services, mortgage broker, a Bowen Practitioner,  telecoms broker,  writing of wills, cartridge refills, etc.   

After joining Venture we were asked to help with their external communications by developing a website for the members.

The site was developed to be easy to edit and update allowing us to add news stories and new member profiles at any time. Because of the limitation in budget and our work load at the time, the site was rapidly developed, created in around 10 hours.

The site was designed to be simple to navigate and also represents one of our first endeavours to provide standards compliant code. After attending a meeting of the Manchester Digital Accessibility Work Group we discovered utilising XHTML1.1 along with CSS for styling we were able to create code that would be more accessible to users with disabilities. We aim to utilise these standards in all our sites started after the 1st of August 2005. In addition to the standards we also provide keyboard shortcuts for screen readers and a help page to explain the accessibility standards used throughout the site.
